Santa Rosa is a wine and food destination. It is a farming city. It is the economic center of the North Bay Area. It is a lot of things. But many people know it mainly as the longtime home of Charles Schulz, the creator of Peanuts and of course, Snoopy.
As a former resident of that city, I know well all the lasting imprints that exist in the community from this connection - a museum, a skating rink, life-size sculptures, and abundant philanthropy, just to name some prominent examples. In recent years, a new museum and research center has emerged and with it is a labyrinth designed in the profile outline of Snoopy's head. I didn't really see the pattern at first, but thanks to a posted sign and a bit of imagination, I could make out the shape. Sort of.
